Inspired by the design of airplanes and automobiles.Buildings appear to be modern and sleek.
3. Set of Threes’
Art Deco elements normally come in a set of 3’s, such as three bandings and three windows. This might be due to egyptian influence or just good design.
4. Horizontal banding
This simple ornamentation reinforces the the aerodynamic concept of Streamline Moderne. (1)
5. Plaster Moulding
Stucco can be sculpted into art deco motifs. The finish was usually left in biege but was sometimes painted in pastel colours of the era.
6. Geometry
Art Deco motifs include simple geometrical shapes, as seen on the balcony of the building.
