After establishing Chop Ban Hin Lee, he returned to China to marry Lim Han Nyoh, his first wife. However, he returned to Penang leaving the young wife in China. He married his second wife, a local Penang girl, sister of Gan Ngo Bee, a local merchant. Unfortunately, the marriage did not ended well and they divorced. He married Ooi Kim Suan, his third wife in the 1900s. They had daughter and a son together. She later past away due to tuberculosis. In 1912, he married his fourth and last wife, Lee Cheng Kin whom they had six children.
