Wawasan Open Univeristy

 He established the Yeap Chor Ee Charitable Trust and the Yeap Chor Ee Endowment Trust just before his death in 1952. Homestead and China Street Ghaut properties were donated to the Wawasan Education Foundation in 2006. Chor Ee passed away on 26th May 1952 at the age of 83. In 2004, the Yeap Chor Ee Endowment Trust donated Homestead and its properties along China Street Ghaut to the Wawasan Education Foundation to establish the university. Homestead had been the residence of the Yeap family for well over 80 years. Wawasan Education Foundation (WEF) is a joint effort of the Yeap Chor Ee Endowment Trust and Parti Gerakan Rakyat Malaysia.In 2006, Wawasan Open University, being Malaysia's first private not-for-profit open learning institution,was set up as Open Distance Learning (ODL) education university for working adults.\

 

 

 House of Yeap Chor Ee

In 2008, Yeap Leong Huat (Chor Ee’s grandson) established the House of Yeap Chor Ee ,the first home of Yeap Chor Ee, to embrace the achievement of his grandfather. As a social history gallery, it will provide an insight of Yeap Chor Ee's background, his achievement in trading and banking sector and the social setting of the immigrants during the past. Illustrations and photos were displayed and complete documentation relevant to Sir Yeap Chor Ee provide sufficient information to the visitor.
