Looking at the historical period in which Wisma Yeap Chor Ee was constructed, it was the time of British rule; the era of colonialism. Hence, the architectural style of the building went hand in hand with the historical occurrences of the country, making the building a significant part of the growth of Georgetown, Penang. Examples of famous colonial landmarks are the Ipoh Railway Station, Perak and the Sultan Abdul Samad building, Kuala Lumpur. Through much observation, research and analysis, it is determined that Wisma Yeap Chor Ee possesses elements of both the Art Deco and Neo-Classical styles.
